Impact Statement

LGBT Foundation is committed to maintaining services and producing programmes that empower and uplift LGBTQ+ communities. Through the generosity of funders, donors, volunteers and staff, we are able to provide critical health and wellbeing services, such as our helpline, counselling, sexual health, and wellbeing services, as

well as our work to educate people and encourage increased awareness and system change. Additionally, we plan to expand our services to areas where they are needed most and develop new ones, reflecting the ever-evolving needs of LGBTQ+ communities across England.

As we enter a new chapter in the history of LGBT Foundation, we remain committed to our core belief that queer hope and joy can flourish. At the heart of our work is a commitment to fostering human connection. We believe that building strong, supportive communities is essential to creating a world where LGBTQ+ people can thrive. We know that it’s not enough to simply fight against the forces of oppression; we must also actively cultivate joy, hope, and love in our lives. Ultimately, our goal is to create a world where all LGBTQ+ people can live their lives to the fullest. We believe that queer hope and joy are powerful tools in achieving this goal, and we are committed to doing everything we can to foster these qualities in our community.

Every day of the year, our teams are working to make this vision a reality. To help structure our work, all of our principal activities fall into the following strategic goals:

· Achieving Equality: We are making change happen by ensuring that LGBT people’s voices are heard and helping to make the world a more equal place for LGBT people

· Encouraging Wellbeing: We work to increase confidence and reduce isolation amongst our communities, enabling people to flourish

· Promoting Safety: We are helping people feel more confident and in control of their lives- LGBT people should feel safe and be safe, wherever they are

We also recognise the importance of intersectionality in our work. We know that LGBTQ+ people come from all walks of life and face unique challenges depending on their race, ethnicity, class, and other factors. That’s why we work to ensure that our

programs and services are accessible and inclusive to all members of our community, regardless of their background.

Furthermore, LGBT Foundation is committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050 for emissions scopes 1, 2 and the NHS Carbon Reduction Plan’s defined subset of scope 3. The commitment was made on 27/03/2024 by the Board of Trustees.
